Estimate Distance and Fuel Impact
This tool uses airport coordinates from OpenFlights and the same region-aware fuel logic already used across the site. The route estimate is based on departure-region jet fuel pricing and a simple crisis multiplier when either end of the trip is in an affected market.

How This Estimate Works
- Distance uses a great-circle calculation from OpenFlights airport coordinates.
- Fuel cost uses the departure region's current jet fuel price as the route baseline.
- Passenger surcharge is a rough planning proxy using a 30% pass-through assumption.
- Widebody surcharge math assumes 300 passengers; narrowbody uses 150.
